Tree milling machine models - Practical Machinist
The other issue is the micrometer endstop bottom tab was broke off, I assume from someone over tightening it. I have taken the mill to a machine shop to have the tab brazed on and the bores cleaned up. I had a heck of a time finding a collet closer also. The seller didnt know how it worked and didn't get the closer when he urchased the mill.

Which mill, Bport or Tree? - Practical Machinist
The shop owner told me they were a more rigid, better mill than a Bridgeport. Downside: I think Tree has ceased making these mills. Parts may be harder to come by than for the Bridgeport. I have a really nice Bridgeport series I with 9" x 42" table in my home shop. It is a good little mill for most work.

HI all, I have a 10x32 lathe, a 3.5x5/7/14 Horizontal milling machine and now I'm looking to get a vertical mill. I was thinking a 9x40 ish BP would be a good one but reading your posts sounds more like a light duty unit. I'm up in Alberta and don't see many machines come and go, seen one BP in three months within 1000 kilometres.
