Hi folks, Just getting ready to install the new front crank seal and cam seals along with new waterpump. and timing belts. Do you use any type of sealant on the seals themselves or just pound them back in place. using the same depth of the original seals and they will stay put? I have the proper seal replacement tools.

It was a small engines crankcase sealant. Said for snowmobiles, atv's, dirtbikes, etc. Thats what I used on my xlt and its seems to be holding up. It was in a grayish tube.

Before you press it in, put Loctite in those grooves and let dry approx 1 minute then press in the seal. Then Apply "Injector Gasket" Loctite around the outside perimeter to seal grooves and crankcase seams. After that, coat sealed areas with Loctite Primer to bind the sealant. 1 - 5 of 5 Posts.
